Shooting in Badiraguato, Sinaloa

About 250 families were displaced by attacks by armed groups in the communities La Tuna, Arroyo Seco and La Palma, in the municipality of Badiraguato, according to reports from municipal authorities. One of the attacks was against the home of Consuelo Loera, mother of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa cartel. The attackers, about 150, cut telephone and internet lines and took the property motorcycles and ATVs. According to unofficial reports, at least three people were shot dead. People who fled the scene took refuge in nearby communities, in the municipal head of Badiraguato and Culiacan. The attacks began on Saturday and so far have not reached local or federal agents corporations or Mexican Army personnel. Apparently, the attackers are members of the criminal organization of the Beltran Leyva and entered this inhospitable region through the border with Chihuahua.
