Radio Legend Ed Walker Passes Away

Radio legend Ed Walker has passed away at the age of 83 after battling cancer. American University’s WAMU 88.5 mourned their longtime host of The Big Broadcast with a tweet announcing his passing. Ed, who was born blind, was on the air in Washington for six decades. In the ‘50s and ‘60s, he and Willard Scott hosted the popular drive-time radio show The Joy Boys before Ed took over as the host of The Big Broadcast in 1990. Ed taped his final broadcast from his hospital which was aired last night hours before his passing. Rest in peace.
