Man Shoots Self inside Hospital Room in Front of His Wife after She Gives Birth in Texas

A man shot and killed himself at a northwest Houston hospital Sunday shortly after his wife gave birth, according to Houston police. Police said the 32-year-old man, who had recently been distraught, shot himself while in a room with his wife at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital. She had just given birth that afternoon. No one else was inside the room, but some reported hearing what sounded like arguing shortly before the shots were fired. The man was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The hospital has a strict "No Gun" policy, but the shooting left some hospital visitors wondering if about security. "They should probably have more security, you know. If they're going to let people in the institution like that," said Gustavo Manrique, hospital visitor. "They probably need to have cops or something like that around if somebody has a gun or metal detectors or something." The man's identity has not been released at this time.
