Tiger cubs born at US zoo

Metanews: Sumatran tiger has given birth to two healthy cubs at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. The cubs' birth was heralded as a conservation success since Sumatran tigers are critically endangered in the wild, where fewer than 500 remain. So far, the cubs have only been in contact with their mother Damai, a four-year-old Sumatran tiger on loan from the San Diego Zoo, as the zookeepers don't want to disturb the bonding process between her and her cubs.
