AntiJapan protests flare on anniversary of Mukden incident

Fresh anti-Japan protests kicked off across China and beyond on September 18 in response to the ongoing territorial dispute over islands in the East China Sea. Tuesday's protests coincided with the anniversary of the Mukden incident in 1931, when Japan bombed its own railway in Manchuria blaming it on China, as a pretext to invade the country. A small anti-China rally was also held in Tokyo.
