Footage Breezy Point NY Tornado Destroys Everything

National Weather Service has confirmed that a two tornadoes struck a beachfront neighborhood in Queens and a neighborhood in Brooklyn Saturday.Firefighters were canvassing a beachfront neighborhood in Breezy Point assessing the damage, but an hour after it struck there were still no reported injuries and the area affected by the storm appeared small.An FDNY spokesman said there were reports of power lines down and possibly other damage in the Rockaway peninsula in Queens.Video posted on YouTube show a funnel cloud hurling sand and debris in the air as it moved through the Breezy Point section.The general manager of the Breezy Point Surf Club told The Associated Press the storm ripped up cabanas and even picked up industrial-sized metal trash bins.About five minutes later, an EF1 tornado touched down in Canarsie, Brooklyn, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS said 110 mile per hour winds knocked down trees and power lines and damaged homes.The Canarsie tornado ripped off parts of roofs that sent debris was flying around Avenue N and Carnarsie Road and East 92nd Street between Seaview Avenue and Avenue N. The tornado then traveled across road on the Belt Parkway near the Flatbush exit.The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning for Queens and Brooklyn as a line of strong thunderstorms moved through the city.The service said radar detected a "strong rotation" in the storm.Fox 5 viewer Thomas Cassels sent in a photo from Kings Plaza in Brooklyn showing what appeared to be a tornado.If you have any storm damage photos you can email them to fox5video@gmail.com.A Tornado Watch remained in effect for the metro region until 9 p.m. on Saturday night.
