At Least 7 Dead After Shooting In A Sikh Temple in Wisconsin

At least seven people have died after a shooting this morning in a temple of the Sikh community on the outskirts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, police officials said. Bradley Wentlandt, County Police Chief of Greenfield, confirmed that four people were found dead inside and three outside the temple, one of them, the gunman. Wentlandt explained that a police unit moved to the tempo Sikh in Oak Creek, a suburb outside of Milwaukee, when receiving a call of shots fired at 10.25 local time (15.25 GMT). Upon arrival at the scene, one officer was shot and received by an attacker so "fire responded to the shooting" and finally killed the assailant, the police chief said. Later, authorities found four bodies inside the temple and two more outside, besides the alleged attacker. The officer has received "multiple gunshot wounds, but is out of danger," said Wentlandt. At the moment, is not known why the attack. Also, the chief medical officer Froederdt Hospital, Lee Biblo, reported that at the health center have been three wounded, all men who are in "critical condition" as a result of gunshot wounds. The governor of Wisconsin, Republican Scott Walker has indicated in a statement that local authorities are already working with the FBI to establish the facts. The Sikhs ("Sikh" in English) are the fifth world religion, a monotheistic religion born in India in the sixteenth century and has 27 million believers worldwide, of which approximately 500,000 live in the U.S. .
