At least 1 person dead, more than 300 injured as Typhoon Koinu hits Taiwan

Taiwan is cleaning up after Typhoon Koinu plowed through the island's southern tip. Wind speeds reached a staggering 343 kilometres per hour, the strongest ever recorded on the island. Some forecasters say it may even be the third strongest ever recorded worldwide.
