Fire dragon dance returns to Hong Kong

More than 300 performers carried an incense-lit dragon through the streets and alleyways of Hong Kong’s Tai Hang neighbourhood on September 28, 2023. Originating from the 19th century, the dance has become part of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in the city. This year’s event was the first time it was held in the city after a four-year, pandemic-induced hiatus.
