Volcanic Lightning Seen as Volcano Erupts

The Stromboli volcano off the coast of Sicily was seen spewing dark clouds of ash and producing flashes of volcanic lightning after erupting on December 4. Footage recorded by Nicolas Hryca-Watremez shows clouds of volcanic debris growing and spreading over the water. Streaks of lightning can be seen flashing within the clouds.
