Mother swan dies of sadness after youngsters destroy her nest

A mother swan apparently died of moral distress weeks after a group of teenagers attacked her nest by throwing bricks at it. According to the Manchester Evening News, on May 20, several youngsters were seen near the Manchester Canal Lake, throwing stones and debris, hitting three of the six eggs the swan had hatched.
