Goonies Mom Mary Ellen Trainor Dies

Lethal Weapon star Mary Ellen Trainor has passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer. The actress starred in many iconic films including the Goonies, Scrooged, Ghostbusters 2, and Romancing the Stone, which was her first acting gig on suggestion of Michael Douglas. Goonies costar Corey Feldman took to Twitter to mourn her loss saying his prayers were with Mary’s family. Mary Ellen was married to Oscar winning director Robert Zemeckis but divorced in 2000. They have on son Alexander who survives his mother. A memorial service is planned later this month and in lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to the Teddy Bear Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project.
