Janelle Monáe, Irreverence and Eccentricity

An obsession with photosynthesis was her first inspiration. In addition to singing and acting, when Janelle Monáe was 12 years old she had already written a script for theater that told the story of a girl and a boy who competed for the love of a plant, a first glimpse of its eccentricity and irreverence. From there on, art remained the means to express what she lived.
