Panic-buying Hongkongers informed salt does not protect against radiation

Hong Kong’s food safety watchdog has urged residents to stop panic buying salt following Japan's release of treated waste water from the Fukushima nuclear plant. Some residents scrambled to get their hands on salt, leaving store shelves bare. They believed salt would protect them against radiation, and also worried future salt products may be radioactive.
