by Noti.Mexico
In cities in at least five states, the price of a kilogram of eggs has shot up between 20% and 50%, according to testimonies of housewives. For example, in grocery stores, markets and egg stores in border cities of Sonora, it happens that residents of the United States come to Mexico to buy the product because it is scarce on the U.S. side, which has raised the price up to 50%, and the lid with 30 eggs went from 80 pesos to more than 120 pesos.
