2 Police Officers Shot, Suspect Killed in Maryland

According to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in for a shooting at a Panera Bread at the Boulevard at Box Hill just before noon. Shots were fired when the responding deputy entered the Panera; the deputy was wounded. A second deputy was later also hit by gunfire at the second crime scene. The suspect was shot and killed. It’s not known what led to the shooting but the sheriff doesn’t believe that there is a threat to the community or any other people involved in the shooting. One deputy was flown to Shock Trauma; the second deputy was taken to another local hospital. Neither deputy’s condition is known. No other injuries were reported. Capt. Jeff Long reports some stores in the area are currently shut down, including the Panera. Nearby roads are also closed, blocked off by police cars. Crime scene tape surrounds the parking lot.
