Find guns that belonged to Blackbeard in North Carolina

Archaeologists in North Carolina recovered five guns from the wreck of the pirate Blackbeard's flagship. The largest of the guns drawn on Monday weighs about 1,360 kilos (3,000 pounds). The remains of the ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, are in Beaufort Inlet. Historians believe that most of the guns was manufactured in Sweden, said Billy Ray Morris, director of the project, indicating that Blackbeard had weapons from different countries. State officials say they have recovered about 280,000 artifacts at the site of the wreck. Blackbeard, an Englishman whose real name was Edward Teach, captured a French ship carrying slaves and renamed it Queen Anne's Revenge in 1717. Volunteers from the Royal Navy killed at Ocracoke Inlet pirate next year, five months after the ship sank. The remains were found in 1996.
