The US Airways pilot who was forced to ditch in the frigid Hudson River is being lauded as a hero -- for ensuring all those on board, including a baby, were safe Even though pilots train for water landings, aviation experts agree Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger -- a former Air Force fighter pilot-- showed rare skill in making a near textbook landing without the plane breaking apart.
