Subdued mood at CES

Technology takes center stage the the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas despite a gloomy economy. Manufacturers went smaller, not just in their presentation but also in their product. Gone were the 150-inch TVs and instead, smaller and sleeker took center stage. Samsung grabbed notice with its one-inch thick TVs that use light-emitting-diodes (LEDs) rather than lamps as their primary light source. It's been estimated that such screens use 40 percent less power than traditional LCDs . . . not to mention saving a whole lot of space in the living room. Lindsay Claiborne reports.
