#THANKS: Ecologist teaches how to clean a stream full of garbage

Daniel Toben, 32, discovered a stream in downtown Durham, North Carolina, filled with trash and plastic bottles. He decided to commit to cleaning up the creek as part of a campaign to motivate and encourage his community to clean up the planet. Daniel became interested in cleaning up the waste while in college. To date he has disposed of waste in over 400 different locations and has taken out over 7,300 bags of garbage. Since he started, he has inspired hundreds of people to do the same.
