Stephen Hawking warned that the planet Earth will become a huge ball of fire

The renowned British scientist said that humanity will be extinct in less than 600 years Famed theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking warned that the human race will die on Earth when it becomes a sparkling ball of fire in less than 600 years. And he considered that humans should "go boldly where no one has gone before" if they intend to keep the species for another million years. If the population of Earth does not begin to move to another planet, the world will be overloaded and the high energy consumption will destroy it. During a video appearance at the Tencent WE Summit in Beijing on Sunday, Hawking called on investors to support plans to travel to the nearest star outside of our solar system, in the hope that a livable planet may be orbiting, explained the British newspaper The Sun. Alpha Centauri is one of the closest star systems, four light years away, and scientists believe it may have exoplanets that could encourage life, just like Earth. Hawking supports Breakthrough Starshot, a company that set out to reach this system in two decades using a small plane that could travel at the speed of light. "The nanocraft could reach Mars in less than an hour, or reach Pluto in days, spend Voyager in less than a week and reach Alpha Centauri in little more than 20 years." If successful, a generation could see how that probe reaches the star. Pete Worden, the director of Starshot Breakthrough and former director of NASA's AMES Research Center, also made an appearance in Beijing. "Maybe, if all goes well, sometime a little after half of the century we will have our first image of another habitable planet in orbit around the nearest star," he said.
