Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Gibby work on completing assignments during a lock-in at Ridgeway with their new friend and intern Brad, but when Sam suddenly changes and tags along whenever Freddie and Brad are doing something, Carly and Freddie suspect Sam might have a crush on him. This seems almost certain when they test a "PearPad" app on Sam that detects the mood of someone, and the result is "in love". Later, Sam and Freddie have a serious conversation about love and feelings. Amidst the chat, Sam kisses Freddie without warning, while Carly looks on with a shocked expression. In the subplot Carly and Gibby use Spencer as a test subject for their science project.
