Exclusive: 'Peace much cheaper than war'

Israeli and Palestinian leaders will begin regular negotiations in a bid to reach a peace agreement within a year. The pledge comes as the two sides held their first face-to-face talks in almost two years. The U.S. says the talks in Washington between Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli prime minister Benyamin Netanyahu were constructive, with both sides aiming for a peace deal. But despite the positive mood of negotiations, Jewish settlements and recent Hamas attacks, remain major stumbling blocks. The Israeli Prime Minister said both parties will have to make painful concessions. In an exclusive interview, Dr. Saeeb Erakat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, told RT what he hopes the outcome will be.
