Challenges of the new Pope Religious freedom in China and Russia

Benedict XVI has failed to fulfill the dream of John Paul II to travel to China and Russia, two countries that rely little Catholics. In 2007, Benedict XVI wrote a letter to Catholics in China, asking them to be faithful to the Church of Rome without hurt feelings with Beijing. However, Catholics in China, still forced to live their faith in secret. A difficult issue that the new Pope will face.
