Puerto Rico cries at the funeral of Hector Macho Camacho

Family, friends and followers of Hector "Macho" Camacho went yesterday to say goodbye to former world champion at a wake and tribute held in the capital of Puerto Rico. Hundreds of people came to the open coffin Camacho, inside the headquarters of the Department of Sports and Recreation in the Puerto Rican capital. The gym was equipped for the occasion with carpet and black curtains. The corpse was dressed in white and carrying in his hands a golden crucifix. On his chest was a thick gold chain with a pendant that said "Macho" in capitals. His mother, Maria Matias, wept and stroked her face to Camacho, shortly before the start of the service. The coffin was draped in the flag of Puerto Rico. "They killed him," he said through tears at a time Matías the ceremony. Camacho was shot on Monday, 20 past, when I was sitting inside a car with a friend outside a bar in Bayamón, his hometown. The friend, Adrian Mojica Moreno, died at the scene of the attack and the boxer died three days later, when the doctors disconnected from a ventilator. Police have reported that there are some suspects in the shooting, but no one has been arrested. After the family approached the coffin, were passing in front of this very diverse members of Puerto Rican society, including parents with young children, the elderly, road workers with their fluorescent vests, uniformed U.S. soldiers and boxing stars in this island, including the former champion Wilfredo Benitez. In the beginning of the ceremony, hundreds of people a minute's applause gave the boxer.
