Largest solar flare to hit Earth

The sun created a huge large solar flare on Tuesday. It is the largest solar flare to hit Earth in five years. When a solar flare occurs, it usually takes a day or two for it to hit Earth. The flare is expected to hit Earth on Thursday with particles traveling at 4 million miles per hour. Solar flares are not visible with the naked eye. When the charged particles hit Earth, they can disrupt GPS and plane navigation systems, as well as cause power outages.
