Sources close to Demi Lovato have said that she is battling issues with bullying.

Lovato s rep announced earlier that the actress/popstar had checked into rehab in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time .

According to TMZ, the Camp Rock star is tackling issues that stem from her painful history of being bullied.

The insiders report that Lovato engaged in self-destructive behaviour as a result of being bullied in school.

In July, the 18-year-old joined an anti-bullying campaign aimed at teens.

Bullying is a very serious thing to me, I ve witnessed it first-hand - I was bullied myself when I was 12, Lovato revealed in January.
